Oil pressure - in my dashboard - CAR OIL CHANGE -?

i'm getting the below message in my dashboard. Mine is a 10 yrs old ford card
LOW OIL PRESSURE.
could the above be due to ENGINE OIL due to be replaced. Or oil gone old or bad.
i jut recently changed oil - its a 5k miles synthetic oil.
It could be your oil pump. You said you had the oil changed recently. How recently? Within the 5k miles? Most vehicles recommend to change every 3k miles. Even if the oil is still good the oil filter could be plugged causing the loss of oil pressure
If you Oil Pressure Gage s reading low after an oil change the Oil Pressure Sensor may be bad. They are not expensive or hard to replace. But you may actually have low pressure which should be looked at. Near Beaumont, TX?
When the light comes on, it means the oil pump isn't pumping enough oil. Whethe rits LOW or empty, or too thick to pump, you need to check it NOW.
- 2003 ford taurus ses sedan V6 3.0L OHV (vin U) oil pressure light? My cars oil light came on (red oil can). I changed the sensor for it. Do i have to go through the drive cycle for it to cut off? If so how long does that take? FYI: no codes show up for anything…
- Oil pressure sensor not working? My oil pressure constantly reads nothing. I recently purchased a 2000 ford ranger with a 4.0L V6. Well, it constantly reads nothing on oil pressure. The motor has no knock and runs smooth… Do you think it is just the sensor? The oil pumps probably wouldn't be out would it? The truck has 170000 miles on it.
- Car sayes no oil pressure? I have a 2003 ford mustang it reads 0 for oil pressure and I just changed the oil pressure switch and it still reads 0 the oil level is fine and the car runs just fine what would my next step be or any suggestions thanks
- Oil pressure warning light? I have a 2003 Ford Focus 1.6 petrol. I have noticed that after I turn off the engine and then turn the ignition back on the oil pressure warning doesn't not come on immediately like the other lights such as the battery red light. It takes a few seconds before it comes on. The oil level is ok. Why is this?
