Ford Escape - too much oil?

The dealer put one and a half quarts too much oil in my Ford Escape. I drove it about three hundred miles before I could get it back to them. I only noticed we had too much oil in it when it started blowing blue smoke out the tailpipe. The smoke was as big as the car itself. How much damage can this cause overall? They said the turbo was leaking however after draining it has not leaked since.

thank you

Added (1). It isn't that I didn't take immediate action. #1 dealership is 50 miles from home so that is 100 right there #2 the other days was a weekend with graduation involved. Believe me I would have gotten it up there even sooner if at all possible. Instead of being so critical, understand circumstances arise! Thanks for what your owners manual says however I'm hoping a mechanic who has seen this can help also.

Three hundred miles? IF you were concerned it would have taken anyone just a few minutes to drain the excessive oil. This is not responsible ownership. Now you worry? Sorry, but whatever happens, if anything, has to related to your choice of not taking immediate action to resolve the too much oil. OK? The owner's manual of my 2001 Audi TT indicates possible catalytic converter damage if there too much oil. Usually dealerships are very careful as to oil services for if the screw this simple service they could be liable for any damages. Next something happens as this Escape, take immediate action to have it resolve.

High oil level can cause your main engine seals to be ruptured. I would keep an eye on your oil level and make sure to keep your documentation from the service in case you need to make a small claim.
