Ford escape 2002,intense smell of fuel when stuck in traffic?

This car gives me smell of petrol when i drive slowly or stuck in traffic.iv replace fuel tank pipes which i thought would be a reason but still the problem is there. Please advise

That smell is likely to be a sign there's a fuel leak somewhere in the lines. Park it over a dry section of paving and let it idle for a few minutes, then move it and look for wet spots. Trace the wet spots up to the undercarriage to locate the source.

  • Should their be federal limits on the money police can get from traffic tickets? In my small city- it seems like they are enriching themselves off minor traffic tickets. I've paid $600 so far this year alone and I'm not a purposefully reckless driver. I wonder if that's how they can afford their higher salaries (than the median where I live) and 2015 ford police cruisers (whereas most people here drive old cars).
  • My 2001 ford ranger just died in the middle of traffic? I'm having multiple issues with the truck, mostly because I haven't had the money for the upkeep. But it just died on me, the lights and everything come on, and it's trying to start although it sounds really weird when its trying to start. It had almost no oil in it so put two quarts in, no luck. The battery light came on right when it quit, and I've had this happen before a few times, but it started right back up the previous times. I'm thinking maybe a bad alternator?
  • Is this normal or is my ford ranger fuel gauge stuck/broken? I recently purchased a 2007 ford ranger, and i do not know much of how its fuel gauge works yet. I filled it up for the first time a couple days ago and drove it about 35 miles since, and the fuel gauge still shows full. The gauge shows empty when i turn off the truck and then upon starting it up returns tot he full position like normal. Is this normal for ford rangers, or otherwise what could be wrong? Also what would be the range on a full tank for this type of truck?
  • Will I cause any damage if I use my manual fuel cutoff/shutdown as a throttle while I investigate why my actual throttle is stuck at full Had my cav rotary injection pump fixed on a diesel Ford tractor. The throttle is not operating correctly (stays at full throttle), is it going to hurt anything to use my manual fuel cutoff as a throttle while I investigate the issue.
