Is this normal or is my ford ranger fuel gauge stuck/broken?
I recently purchased a 2007 ford ranger, and i do not know much of how its fuel gauge works yet. I filled it up for the first time a couple days ago and drove it about 35 miles since, and the fuel gauge still shows full. The gauge shows empty when i turn off the truck and then upon starting it up returns tot he full position like normal. Is this normal for ford rangers, or otherwise what could be wrong? Also what would be the range on a full tank for this type of truck?
Fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate things.
My Toyota doesn't move from "full" for about 50 miles. Then when it says 1/2 there's only about 1/3 left.
Drive for a hundred or so miles and it should start dropping.
I would say this is normal, my guage stays on full for about 50km(30mi) in my ranger with the small gas tank (58L or 15gal). I would assume you have the bigger tank which is right around 20gal, if you assume 20mpg then 400miles should be easy to get out of a tank as minimum, probably close to 500miles or so depending on you engine and other configuration could be more or less
- Oil gauge randomly drops to 0 and back to normal? 2001 ford ranger 90, xxx miles While driving my oil guage will randomly drop to 0 and my check guage light comes on, it only drops to 0 for maybe a couple of seconds and goes back to normal. When i'm accelerating and my rpms r high you can hear an irregular revving. I'm at a loss as to what this could be, and it does sound concerning as it is messing with my revving
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- I have a 1994 ford ranger and my tempature gauge is constintly going up and down? When I drive the temperature gauge will rise up above the half way point and then it will go down Almost all the way and will just keep doing that until I turn off the truck. Anyone know what could be the cause of this?
- Gas gauge issues 2001 ford ranger 2wd manual 3.0 engine. 12 gallon gas tank? The gas gauge fluctuates between 3/8 and 7/8 somewhat correlating to the amount of gas in my tank but it isn't accurate. What can i do to try and fix this problem? I'm hoping it isn't the float in the gas tank and would like to cover everything else before i drop my gas tank. additional information will be added as requested Gas gauge problems? 2001 ford ranger with a 3.0 engine manual transmission and a 12 gallon gas tank
