Will I cause any damage if I use my manual fuel cutoff/shutdown as a throttle while I investigate why my actual throttle is stuck at full

Had my cav rotary injection pump fixed on a diesel Ford tractor. The throttle is not operating correctly (stays at full throttle), is it going to hurt anything to use my manual fuel cutoff as a throttle while I investigate the issue.

Hi it sounds like you have several faults with the fuel system.

Over revving is likely that way. Much better t ocheck & find out why the linkage is not coming back to idle. Easier t odo without the engine running.

Yup, no fuel means no "bang".

You can investigate the issue without the engine running.
