Possible to get rid of your car warranty?

When I purchased my new vehicle back in August. I purchased two warranties with it. And I was reading a bunch of reviews of people of how my warranty I have doesn't help anyone out… It's with Ford. Called ESP. Any knowledge would help!

Most of the aftermarket "warranties" sold by used car lots and mail order companies are just insurance policies: typically overpriced and don't cover anything in the event you have a problem. Only the car maker or a franchised dealer can sell a real extended warranty: if you have a real extended warranty issued by Ford, it probably isn't a rip-off although you may never need it. You'll have to read it to see if you get a refund if you cancel… They're all different.

Much depends on how many miles you will drive and how long you'll keep it. I don't drive many miles and keep them until they're older than anyone would warranty - - never had to pay for a major problem. My brother doesn't take as good care of his as I do and puts a lot of miles on them… He always gets the manufacturer's extended warranty. I think he's crazy - but cars are so expensive to fix these days that just one repair to fuel injection, transmission or air conditioning will pay for the xwarranty: he's had covered repairs - - and things that would never be covered by one of those aftermarket insurance policies.
