How do i get rid of weed smell on my car seats?
I recently purchased my first car and the car is perfect but the seats reek of cigarettes and weed and I would like to shampoo it but I simply don't have the time to do it or the money to pay someone to do it. Plus it's embarrassing when I have people ride with me. Is there a spray or something I could use to rid my seats of that odor that's affordable and not time consuming? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
What are the seats made from? (cloth, leather, vinyl)
Also, check the headliner. Smoke tends to soak in up there. (What's it made from?)
For general deodorizing in cars: I'll pour a little white vinegar in a shallow plastic or glass dish, and leave it on the driver's side floor, overnight. A nice, cheap solution, but it's not likely to solve your problem in one overnight treatment. But it will help.
FABREEZE
Febreeze it. Steam clean it.
You will need to spend some time on this, and do it yourself since you don't have the money to pay a detail shop.
Change the cabin air filter if the car has one. Run the cabin fan on high for 10 minutes, all three vents if possible, on cold, no AC, fresh air.
Take all personal items out of the car. Take out the floor mats. Use a shop vac or vac at a car wash, vacuum of the floor mats. Wash them with a little dish soap or laundry detergent, rub in with a bush, let sit for 30 minutes, rinse off. Let them fully dry outside or in your house like over the tub with a fan on them. Turn them over/around every few hours so they all dry.
With a damp towel wipe down all plastic surfaces. Do not break any small stems on the dash display, some cars have those little plastics stems sticking out by the speedometer to reset the clock, trip odometer, etc.
Fully vacuum the floors, seats, rear deck lid, move the seats forward and back to get under there, and carpet in the trunk. Do not vacuum the headliner.
Mist some fabreeze on all the seating areas, headliner, and carpet. Don't soak it, just a mist. Let dry with the windows down for 30 minutes.
Start car, turn cabin fan to high, spray a few mists of fabreeze in the cabin vent intake area, usually by the windshield cowling. Then turn fan to low, change to Recycle, cabin air fan back up to medium, mist again air intake vents, let run for 5 minutes, then change back to fresh air.
Drive car for 15 minutes with all the windows down. If possible after that let sit for few hours with windows down or at least open 1/2 inch.
If this does not work, you may to repeat and use carpet arm and hammer carpet powder on carpet. Dust on carpet let sit for few hours with car closed up, then vacuum out.
Febreze is your friend. Wipe down all the interior surfaces with a damp cloth and then spray Febreze over all the surfaces AND through the air vents. Don't forget the headliner AND the carpets. You don't need to get things soaking wet… A light mist spray will work.
It might take a couple of applications to get All the smell out, but it will be better than it is now.
Stop smoking weed in your car
Vacuum it real good and then wait for a month. Put breeze air freshener.
- How to get rid of my car without a title, but with the registration in my name? I have a 1998 Ford Taurus. The whole purchase in 2006 was a little shady, and I never acquired the title. Furthermore, the title has a lien on it. I bought it off the street from some guy and I never got the title from him (What was I thinking, yes I know). Long story short, no one has ever claimed it since 2006, I've had it since, and I want to get absolutely rid of it now, and I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
- How to get rid if fordyce spots on corner of lips? I have noticed these what I assume to be fordyce spots on my lips and they are whitish in color very small and in groups and they are raised. Looking at pictures of fordyce it's looks exactly like what I have. They aren't a big problem because they aren't noticeable unless I stretch my lip out but I'd still like to find a remedy.
- How to get the seats in my car looking brand new again? I have a 2005 Ford Focus and the seats are a tan and you can clearly see little stains and even big ones. I want to know if there's an easy carpet cleaning fix I can do myself that's not so expensive or even if anyone knows a car wash or anywhere that does inside cleaning and making your car look like new again would be great!
- How to get rid of surface rust on my truck hood? I have a 1990 Ford F-150 and it is in terrific shape. Not any rust on it except for a layer of on the hood. I don't mind it, but I must admit the brown is jarring when the truck is sky blue. So how do I go about removing it? I heard sandpaper will do the trick. So if I plug in my hand sander and go to town on it, will I see results? Also, I plan to repaint the hood. What primer should I get? And what paint brand do you prefer? Any and all help is appreciated!
