Love it, no problems, based on Volvo Chassis
I have a 2015 Edge that I bought brand new. I love it. It's got 25,000 miles on it now and not the slightest problem so far. 2015 was the first year of the current Edge design.
I don't own a ford Edge, however, I own the 2013 Ford Explorer Limited V6 AWD which is very similar to the Edge (depending on your Trim).
I will say that the car is amazing, 4 years have passed and I'm still baffled by it every time I drive it. The exterior and interior design really doesn't want to show that the car is becoming dated, furthermore, the myriad of technology that the car has just helps it.
I will give three positive/negative things I like about the car.
Pros:
- Interior Design. During the evening the car just looks like a spaceship with all the LED and myfordtouch on
- Technology Features
- Agility when driving at high speeds
Cons:
- Awful brakes. They simply don't give you confidence when driving fast
- Sluggish Engine (The reviews of the turbo V6 are good. But my is just the regular one)
- Steering doesn't give you much road feel
My complains are mostly mechanical and I also believe that this issues perpetuate to the Ford Edge since they have the same chassis platform.
- Why ford ecoboost in everything? Why the hell is ford sticking ecoboosts into everything, i understand it ks a very good engine because it is fuel efficient and makes a decent amount of power, but really? Ecoboosts in a ford gt? What is your opinion in this engine
- When Feinstein can't say everything Ford said was truthful proof truth and the welfare of this country doesn't matter to her? An honorable person would have started this process in July and would have spent time proving the content… Not seeing if it could delay the process when everything else failed miserably.
- How to go about replacing front end suspension parts when everything os really rusty? The springs everything is really rusty. 93 Ford Ranger. 124k miles. I wouldnt otherwise. Can i replace things like control arms and ball joints before doing the springs? What about tie rods and cvs? Any idea from a seasoned mechanic would help. I know you don't have the vehicle to look at but how Would you go about replacing really rusty front end suspension parts?
- Everything you know about this engine? 96 Mustang that my friend owns. Their ex husband bought this for them years ago. We're not sure if any of this is factory or all rebuilt, or if it is Ford or other? Any details on this would be great. Thank you!
