Ford Edge Change Engine Oil Soon?
My Ford Edge (2014, 3.5 L) displayed a warning "Change Engine Oil Soon." I last had the oil changed in December 2014. I don't drive much and have gone only 861 miles. I'm thinking of leaving the oil change for another few hundred miles, maybe until the autumn. Should this be OK? Any comment or suggestions?
Who did the change?
They did not reset the service indicator system.
If it was a dealer go back and get them to sort it out.
If it was a quick lube place you should know better. Stop using these useless places.
MOST LIKELY,. The last " oil change",… The computer was not re-set, and it thinks its time to do it again.
I change my own oil, and I keep track of the Miles Myself,… I don't rely on the computer to tell me.
and Here comes the thumbs down,… But I don't change the Oil, Just because It"s been In the un-driven car for a while… What's the difference if its in the car, Or in the bottle in a warehouse some where?
John, and Skoda John are dead on. The "Oil Change Light" was not reset when the oil was last changed. Reset the light and then change the oil when it comes on again.
- Remanufactured Ford Long Block Engine. When should I get first oil change? Recently had a Ford remanufactured 2.5L 4cyl long block engine replaced in my car. Other than obviously not beating on the engine, I'm curious as to when to get the first oil change. I've came across a few different answers ranging from 1k miles to 2.5k. I'm creeping up to 1k mile on the engine and would be grateful for insights.
