How to I put a truck into 4WD?
I've been looking a purchasing a 2000 Ford F350, so far I've everything seems okay on the truck. I don't know how to switch the truck into 4WD so I can test that out, it has a switch on the hub caps that say "lock" and "free" and also a lever beside the gas pedal with indications on which setting is 4WD high and which is low range.
Put the lever in 4 high (or low) and then switch the hubs from free to lock. Reverse the procedure to go back to 2WD. If you are still in mucky ground when you want to switch back to 2WD it is okay to let the hubs o until you are ready to get out and switch them but I don't recommend any freeway driving like that.
Sometimes you will have to rock or roll the truck a bit to get the lever to switch out of 4WD if the hubs are still locked.
HI GEEEZEE ask the owner… Seller.
Google hand book Ford F350 2000 as different cars use different methods
Some you have to physically select on the Hub then inside you select High/Low Ratio. Others you can do so manually, The old Land Rover had 2 levers, 1 selected 4WD which you had to select before you could select or Ratio

- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).

- How much would it cost to make a 2wd drive f150 into 4wd? So i own a 1985 ford f150 stepside and i freakin love this thing its my first truck bought it myself and frankly the stepside is just sexy. But she's a piece of work! Which is fine. But i was wondering if anyone on here could throw me a price range on making it 4wd, i already need to replace transmission shocks and the rear axel and brakes so yeah! I know its possible and difficult and that a new truck would be more wise but i just wanna know a price range! Any help?
