1995 Ford F250 5 speed won't go into gear?
My friend has a 1995 Ford F250 4x4 with a 5 speed manual, 7.5L gas engine. We just replaced the clutch disc, clutch cover, clutch release bearing, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, and clutch master cylinder. The truck was driving fine before the change but the release bearing was squealing and the clutch started started to slip so we decided decided to put in new everything. Only now, the truck won't go Into gear. We've bled the line and everything so it's not that(unless all the new parts aren't tolerating any bit of air at all). Now, if we jack up the rear end so the wheels are off the ground, it goes into gear and shifts through them and the tires spin. With the tires on the ground it won't go into gear at all. We already pulled the transmission back off to check the parts were installed properly and everything looks good. I think maybe the bearing isn't putting enough pressure on the plate to release the clutch or the slave cylinder isn't strong enough but I'd like some more opinions. Advice is appreciated, thank you.
Almost sounds like the linkage is binding up when the truck is down.
Clutch could just need some adjusting.
- Why did my car start and die when put into gear? Now it won't start at all? It's a cold winter day (below zero) Car started right up! I let it run for about 2 minutes, I put it in gear and it just died. I figured it's cold out, not real surprising, but when I tried to start it again, it won't start! Turns over fine but engie won't start! Any ideas? 2003 Ford Taurus 3.0L
- My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift into fourth gear is it ok on a 700 mile round trip drive? I have a 2000 ford Taurus and it doesn't shift into fourth gear anymore. Its been that way for 2 years. It runs fine just doesn't shift into fourth gear and the transmission light does come on after a while of driving it. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it on a 700 mile round trip drive? I know its not good for it I just need to know if I'm going to be stranded on the highway somewhere because my trans went out.

- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
