1996 Ford Contour drive cycle?
96 Contour 2.0 4cyl
Can't get it to passed emissions after 400 miles of doing drive cycle, i only passed 4/8 codes. 4 more to go. But they should have been set by now. Any tricks please?
It is not about the miles. It is the starts and shutdown of the engine. Drive for 10 miles and stop and shut the engine down. You will need to get the engine to warm up (1/2 of the temp gauge) before you shut the engine down.
Good on you for telling us the make, model, and year! The source has Ford's driving cycle. I doubt it is important that the codes be reset in step 1… The reset is usually what has taken you to this point. Similarly, if you bleep over the readings part and just assume it will work or it won't, it will probably work. Note the purpose of each step (left column) and match those parts up with the ones that are not ready - it helps to know which steps are most important.
I guess you have already found out that getting Fords ready will make you cry.
- Where can I buy a transmission range sensor for a 1999 Ford Contour? I need a new transmission range sensor for my 1999 Ford Contour 2.0L 4cyl automatic but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I really don't want to take it into the shop and pay over $100 for it when I can buy it and replace it myself. If you could please paste links that have it or stores that have that brand please let me know. It would be such a simple fix if I was actually able to find one.
- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
- My 1995 ford contour will start and run but will not move when i put it in gear it is a 5 speed fwd? I realized the other day it had less than a quart of transmission fluid and it was really light colored almost as if it was watered down and i'm wondering would that causze it to not move it will go into gear just won't move
