Where can I buy a transmission range sensor for a 1999 Ford Contour?
I need a new transmission range sensor for my 1999 Ford Contour 2.0L 4cyl automatic but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I really don't want to take it into the shop and pay over $100 for it when I can buy it and replace it myself. If you could please paste links that have it or stores that have that brand please let me know. It would be such a simple fix if I was actually able to find one.
Try the auto part store first if it turns out that they can't get it the go to the dealer at the parts counter make sure to give them the last 8 numbers in the vin or they won't be able to help you
Don't buy a range sensor on line! Take the VIN to the dealer parts department and order the correct one. You'll probably be lucky to get the correct part after a month of shipping the wrong ones back and paying a restocking fee. If they even take electrical parts back!
Was curious. Never heard of a transmission range sensor. Looks like it is just another name for a Vehicle Speed Sensor. Hope this helps.
Normally any auto parts store may have them but also may not just got to check with them but if you try to go to an Ford dealership for parts for an car over 13 yrs old they normally say they can't get them anymore
