New battery and car still won't start?

So I had a problem starting the car about 2 weeks ago took the battery to the store and they said the battery was bad so I bought a new one car worked perfectly fine after that now this morning I tried starting the car and no lights it's bells came I hear a click but nothing happens I tried to get a jump and it sorta worked lights came on but car didn't turn over at all tried again to turn it on and the car is now making a static noise in the on position any ideas on what it could be? The make is ford model is taurus 2007

Ford, eh? It figures. Find the charging system fuse and change it from a 5 amp to a 15 amp if it's blown. Do this before somebody sells you a new alternator you don't need. Think; $1 fuse or $500 alternator. That fuse may be way under the dash, away from the other fuses just to make it easy to trick you into buying alternators you don't need.

Hi so why was the battery no use do you think. If now the new one is also flat. The answer is staring you in the face the Alternator is the cause that is what also needs to be replaced are you another one trying to have a car and not spend money of servicing and repairs. Well buddy it has just taken a chunk out of your wallet.

You likely have a short somewhere that is draining the battery while the key is off. It could even be in the alternator or voltage regulator itself. Or it could be something as simple as a bad connection at the battery, ground or starter.

Something is draining your new battery and probably the same thing drained and wore down your old battery.

Have the alternator tested and have an automotive electrician check for parasitic drains on the battery that will drain the battery when the car is off.

Alternator needs testing by an auto electrician.

Just take it to the dealer and they will check on the car to see if it needs to have maintenance.

Well got the aternator tested and that is definitely not the problem

I think there might be problem with alternator. So, that also need to change.

Check the battery cables for corrosion. Always remove the negative cable first and replace it last. If bolt on cable ends have been installed check for corrosion where the cables clamp to the connector. With ignition and all electrics off remove just the negative cable. Connect a 12 volt dc test light between negative cable and negative battery post. If the light shines as bright as it would when connected between battery negative and positive posts take the car to someone that can test and locate a parasitic drain.

  • Battery light came on in my car and steering wheel locked but the car was still running what could it be? I drive a 1999 Ford Taurus I was pulling out of a parking lot and the battery symbol popped up and my steering wheel locked but the car didn't shut off. I applied the breaks slowly and the battery symbol went away and my steering wheel unlocked. I do believe I have some issues with the "computer" in the car i was wondering if this was the cause
  • Car won't crank with a new battery and alternator it has no electrical power what could the problem be? I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT that has been running for months when I tried starting it earlier today it would click once then nothing. Now it has no electrical power at all.
  • Ford 2001 F-150 XLT won't start with new battery? A few days ago I learned my battery was bad so I bought a new one. I installed it and suddenly my truck won't start. I had been able to jump it with the old battery but now it won't even do that. It will crank but will not start. I have checked the inertia switch which was pressed down. I don't have the equipment to check the fuel pump or the pressure in the line. Is there anything else I can check on before I have it towed and pay a bunch of money to a mechanic to look at it?
  • New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
