My car just stopped working?
Okay I have a 2001 Ford focus Se and was coming back home one night when it just shut off. I pulled over and put the car in park and sat for a minute before I turned the key to start it and nothing happened. My dash lights don't come on or anything but my dome lights are bright (when I turn them on) and I can blast the radio? The car acts like the key isn't turning because my dash lights won't come on and my headlights won't come completely on (only parking lights) unless the key is turned. I tried to jump it and it still did the same thing. I have recently put a brand new alternator in it about a week ago and the battery about a year ago. Can someone please help? I'm 16 and this is my first car and it's stuck away from home because yet again you can't put it in neutral to tow unless the key is turned!
If your battery connections and grounds are good you probably have a blown Fusible Link. They are in the fuse/relay box near the battery. Near Beaumont, TX?
Battery died because of a bad charging system. Or ignition failed due to bad fuse or bad switch. See a mechanic.
- Headlights, instrument cluster lights, tail lights, and dome light all stopped working at once? 1995 Mustang GT convertible, fuses are good, switch is good. I'm about to do a voltage drop test on it tomorrow but I wanted to see if you Ford guys knew something that I'm overlooking.
- My indicators and hazards have stopped working? I had this problem with my ford ka 56 plate and the relay switch got changed as they said this was the problem but 4 weeks later they have stopped working again. They don't come on at all. Any ideas what could be causing it as surely it can't be the switch again as its just been changed
- Windows wipers stopped working I have a 53 plate Ford focus cmax and whilst driving in the rain the other day the window wipers just stopped working. So when finally got home I changed the fuse and it kept blowing so on the Monday took it to the mechanic and he had it for a week and a half and they are still not fixed. He has checked the motor, wiring, fuse box and they are all fine. Before he had it you could hear the relay clicking when you flicked the switch but now you don't? Any advise would be very grateful.
- 2008 ford focus se transmission stopped working, lost power steering, and yellow engine light went on? I checked under the hood and everything looks fine. I started it back up and it ran fine and the engine light was no longer on. Should i be worried?
