I have a 2002 ford focus 2.0 zetec motor, what is wrong with it?

It will start and run for a minute or two then dies when it gets warm. I can only Rev it half way before it chocks itself out and dies, plugs wires and coil are good and new. I'm a good parts swapper but diagnosis is not my strong suit. Someone I do not trust worked on it before I got it and did the fuel system, pump, filter and injectors. Timing belt is worn but ok I think, I did buy the tools to do it, crank pin and cam tool. Now i just need the belt. Can someone please help me I sank my money into buying the car and only have a bit more to fix it. I don't know if it's the cat or fuel pump was done goofy or what.

Look for a vacuum leak. Check fuel pressure with a tester. You can rent one at a parts store.

I noticed the temperature was going 3/4 of the gauge when I was going through a drive through one day. I always thought the coolant fan would come on if you turned on the cars AC, but mine does not come on at all. What should I be checking first? I checked the coolant fan fuse and it is fine. Any advice would be appreciated!
  • Ford Focus 2001 Zetec Engine query? I have a 2001 1.4 automatic ford focus (UK) It has been struggling with accelerating and i have been told its a pipe that has a hole in it. Its apparently a common fault on Fords and its where they "suck in and eventually just collapse on themselves" If i was going to order this part, what is it called? Is it a breather hose? If you are looking at the engine you can see it just underneath at the front.
  • Ford Fiesta Zetec 2002 will not pick up any fm stations? I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec 2002. I have noticed that it does not pick up any FM stations but it will have signal when switched to mw. I have taken the radio out and the aerial cable is ok. Really stuck on what to do next. Think it may just be the radio. Any help is much appreciated.
