Ford Fiesta Zetec 2002 will not pick up any fm stations?
I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec 2002. I have noticed that it does not pick up any FM stations but it will have signal when switched to mw. I have taken the radio out and the aerial cable is ok. Really stuck on what to do next. Think it may just be the radio. Any help is much appreciated.
Change the aerial before you do anything else. If that doesn't do it, it must be down to the unit.
I would suggest you don't go to a Ford dealer, but to an independent 'car audio' specialist.
If you have a multimeter check the roof antenna socket for a short between its center contact and earth, you will have to unscrew the antenna first and then remove the antenna plug from the radio, if you get no short then test to see if you are getting a connection from the antenna plug center terminal to the center terminal on the antenna roof socket, if this is ok then check for dry or broken solder joints on the radio's pcb board, its an old radio so I would suspect dry joints on the pcb.

- I too having similar problem with car radio it's not asking for code but not picking up stations? It shows the radio station number but doesn't tune into it I've tried all sorts you can her it searching for station but just doesn' find it. Tried menu button TA settings even manually. It did work just recently bought car haven't got manual I think I pressed something & lost channels. It's RDS 5000 ford ka radio any suggestions?
- Have a problem with my coolant fan on a 2002 Ford Focus 16v zetec? Recently bought this car, only has 119k miles on it. I noticed the temperature was going 3/4 of the gauge when I was going through a drive through one day. I always thought the coolant fan would come on if you turned on the cars AC, but mine does not come on at all. What should I be checking first? I checked the coolant fan fuse and it is fine. Any advice would be appreciated!
