How much to replace a starter on a 1999 ford explorer? - 1
4X4 or 2 wheel drive? I know it uses 4.0 L engine. I would remove the negative battery terminal first. Craw under the vehicle under the driver side. There you will see batter mounted onto the transmission. It take 13mm or 1/2" socket. The battery terminal also uses same size too. With 2 bolts remove, the starter should just be pull out or angle it so you can remove the electrical wire. The big one go to the batter, the smaller on to the ignition switch.
The 4x4, you have to be creative. The differential is in the way. It will come out from the differential.
Hi so here in the uk about 700 pounds or 1000 dollars.
- Where is the starter soleniod located on a 1999 ford explorer xlt? My explorer won't turn over, crank or start.it just a click sound.is it the soleinoid or could it be the starter that s bad?
- How much does it cost to replace motor rear main seal on 1997 ford explorer xlt? The undercarriage is covered with oil concentrated mostly in front but does cover all way to back underneath. Trying to decide if it's worth cost to fix or scrap/trade possible and buy new car instead. No other problems with vehicle. I understand price will most likely be more at garage due to fact of the oil mess.
- Can a car have a starter relay and starter solenoid? I have a 1972 Ford thunderbird and I feel like it may have a starter relay as well as a starter solenoid. On the starter motor there's a starter solenoid. I know that for sure. On the fender of the car appears to have something that resembles a starter relay. I've heard some people tell me that they can't have both but is it possible that it could be that?
