Windshields Fogging Up - 1959 Fairlane 500?

I own and drive an antique 1959 Ford Fairlaine 500 Galaxie and I keep having a problem where the windows fog up on cold or rainy days, bad enough that I can't see the road.

The car does not have defrost, and doesn't have an AC either, it's one of those with the side windows that you prop open when you're driving so that they blow air on you.

Is there a solution to the windows fogging up?

Thanks!

Added (1). EDIT: Grammar error, 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie*

You have to leave one of the front windows partly open so the air inside becomes roughly the same temp as the air outside. The will clear the fog. It's an old car and 1950's era cars didn't have all the niceties that modern cars have.

Open the side windows. Had them on my uncle's 68 17M Ford Taunus.

All cars have defrost. Slide to that mode and put a little heat on.

There's a Galaxy 500 and a Fairlane 500, but there's no such thing as a "Ford Fairlaine 500 Galaxie", so either you're an idiot, or you're trolling. Note the correct spellings of the names Fairlane and Galaxy. No legitimate owner of an antique vehicle would get that wrong. It's also obvious to anyone that a 1959 vehicle is an antique, so only a redundant fool would say they drive an "antique 1959 Ford". Therefore, with those four errors against you, we can conclude that at minimum you're a dumbass. On the off chance that you're not trolling, you should clean your windshield really well on the inside then treat it with Rain-X Anti-Fog glass treatment. Dandy product if used correctly. Sadly it doesn't cure foggy brains or you could use it on yourself.

Wipe the inside with dish soap then buff it up.

Hi none usually cars where fogging up occurs are so riddled with rust. One of this vintage would be so unsafe to drive fogging up would the least of your worries.

Drive with the vent windows partially open and use a anti-fog spray. Also the heater core may be leaking causing the condition.

I had one of those also, it had defrosters, so did my 1959 Chevrolet and even my 1952 Pontiac

  • Where can I buy a grille for my 1970 ford Fairlane 500? I can't seem to find the part anywhere, its not listed in the parts magazine, amazon, ebay or any junkyards. The closest thing i could find was a 1968 fairlane grille, but i don't know if that will work

  • Fixing up 1957 ford fairlane? So my dad and I want to fix up his first car that we have at his old house. Its gonna need a new engine, so i was wondering if LS1 swapping would be viable? What is an ideal engine to throw in it, also we're interested in swapping the transmission to a manual to make it a little more interesting. Any estimates on how much it would cost?
