If they SOLD it to you, they'd BETTER fix it, or make it up to you somehow. They can't legally sell a car with liens or other dirt on the title.

What's an "unclean title" car?
Like 'been there done that' said - if they sold you one with a an unclean title, ask to speak with a manager, and tell them they are going to figure it out, or take the car back and give you a full refund (including tax/title, etc.) Bring some violent friends along to 'convince' them if necessary.
If it's a car you brought to them to trade, etc. - it's not really their problem.

- Can you trade in a vehicle with a different make than the dealer sells? This may be a silly question, but can you trade in a vehicle at a dealership that does not sell the make you currently have? For example, if I want to trade in a Ford F150 at a Mazda dealership to put towards a new Mazda vehicle, will the dealership give me an offer? Or would I have to go to a Ford dealer?
