Which are more reliable Chevy's or Ford's?
Either one if it's properly maintained.
Well, Chevy used to be until they made the Vega. It seems that their reign ended then. They haven't made a decent engine since then. Ford has popped up on top (between the two of them)! Just drive behind a Chevy that is 3 or more years old and you will quickly discover that their exhaust system is failing and you will not be able to stay behind them without being gassed to sickness. I don't know how they can pass the annual smog test once they get to be only three years old! One can get more miles on a Ford engine that they can on a Chevy. But then again one can get almost double the mileage of a Ford on a Honda engine. So it all depends really on what you want. A well running machine or a fancy looking car. I like the look of the new Camero, however only if one puts a Ford engine in it will I ever drive one!
Yes
Depends mostly on how well the owner takes care of it.
My first car was a '64 Chevy Impala SS. It had a 401. My mom's neighbor was a wrench head. He redid the heads, polished the valves, honed the cylinders, put on dual quads & added a 3/4 cam. Then, he put in a larger, newer Pontiac trans & a pick up rear with posi trac. Then, a real nice chocolate brown paint & white interior. He said that it had 500 horse. When I raced, I always won. Nothing could match my sled. I beat vets, jags, GTO's, Mustangs & 409's, 413's, 396's, 428's. I always won. I gave it to my little brother when I enlisted. He sold it. Chevy is faster & Ford lasts longer.
I'm a Ford fan at heart, but the truth of the matter is that you can get good and bad vehicles of any brand. From personal experience, the 2 most reliable vehickes i've ever owned were a 1998 toyota camry 4 cylinder and 1997 ford crown victoria police interceptor.
