Ford or Chevy truck which is more reliable overall?
I like the looks of both. Which is a better truck overall mpg safety reliability being he big one for me. It would be used from 2005-2014 model year and 4x4 4 door to
Which truck model is best and why? I had a Tacoma I loved but need a bigger truck
Chevy has always been better than ford
Dodge Ram is also very good
I'm a Chevy fan, It seems to me that Fords are too light in the rear.
It's sort of a trick question. Reliability stats are about equal even though the Ford is more reliable, because Fords are sturdier so they get used the most for the toughest jobs. Most people like driving Chevy's more because they're easier to drive and not as truck like in handling as Fords, but Fords are built on stronger frames.
Rams are much worse quality and reliability wise that either Ford or Chevy. They fall apart on bad roads.
A non-bias source for information on reliability can be found in Consumer Reports!
A copy of the buyers guide (yearly publication) and the special car buying guide (once a year report published one month every year) can often be found in the public library and many school libraries in the reference section.
Most mechanic's will tell you to buy a Chevy, that is because a Chevy tends to be in the shop more and will generate income for the mechanic.
There's a reason there are more aftermarket parts for Chevy's then for Fords. The primary reason is a Chevy needs to have parts replaced more often!
Factually, Ram's are considered the best trucks by those who use trucks as trucks. Fords are preferred by most companies that need trucks in a trade off between purchase price and reliability. Those that want to own a truck but use them like a commuter car tend to buy Chevy's.
Mechanics like Chevys because they are easier to work on. Mechanics also like the Ford truck with the 5.0 liter engine. The V6 EcoBoost engine is hard to work on and expensive to fix. According to my neighbor, RAM trucks have weak suspensions and other reliability issues. I would probably buy the Ford F150 with 5.0 liter V8 engine if I had a choice.
chevy is clearly the better choice
In my opinion Ford makes better trucks. Personally I am a Ford guy but I still like Chevy as long as its from before 2009 during the great recession. In 2009, GM sold 1% of Shanghai GM to SAIC for 491million, giving the Chinese partner a controlling stake in the venture. Then GM sold 50% of there failing India division for an additional investment of 350 million. Source of this info is QUARTZ the secret history of GM's Chinese bailout. Ford makes a better truck overall, Chevy makes a pretty reliable engine but that's really the only thing special. Ford on the other hand OVERALL makes the better truck by having a mostly reliable engine, body tends to rust slower then other companies, and they look pretty good. GM is no longer a true American company anymore. Nowadays its hard not to get something that wasn't made or has parts made in China, but I still prefer that they don't SELL THEMSELVES to China for some money. Can't wait for the release of the S650 Ford, and stay true to being a American company. This is all my opinion, and though not all will value the opinion of a 15year old.
- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- 2015 ford fusion or 2015 toyota camry? Which is a better buy and more reliable? The problem is that i like the looks of the fusion better but in the same time i like the smooth ride of the camry! ( i never tried the fusion ride though! ) i'm confused.
- 2013 Ford Fusion vs Subaru Outback: Which is better on snow and more reliable? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD vs 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited AWD Which is better for a 19 year old and can handle the intense Michigan winters? Both are fully loaded and have a little over 100k miles on them. Here are my top priorities, in order: 1. Reliability 2. Good on snow and ice (especially ice) 3. Low cost of ownership 4. Easy to drive for a new, young driver .Anyone wanna help me out?
- Which is more reliable an '06-'09 Ford Explorer or '06-'09 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Trying to decide whether to go with a Grand Cherokee or a Ford Explorer now. It would be a 2006-2009 model year for either of them. I read tons of reviews online, but you can't always rely on that info. Just don't want issues like my tranny in my 2011 Ford Escape… That was hell!
