Where can I buy a Ford Police Interceptor?
I just got my license and I need to buy myself a car. And I don't want to bu anything really fancy or expensive, and I heard the crown victoria interceptor is pretty cheap like 1k or 1.5k for a 2004 model. But were do you buy it from?
There are literally THOUSANDS of used Ford Crown Victorias in street corner used car lots all over the country. SOME of them MAY even still run. Problem is that ANY used cop car or retired taxi cab is likely to be pretty much worn out and used up. Don't expect to find any used Crown Vic to be a reliable, inexpensive mode of transportation.
You can find used Crown Victorias just about anywhere. They are not all police interceptors, but they are good cars and pretty cheap.
Craigslist
EBay and good places to start looking.
You can use a search engine like www.searchtempest.com to seach all of craigslist without having to change cities. I put Crown Vic in and came up with about 25 of them within 200 miles of my location.
Or you could get a low-mileage Mercury Grand Marquis, which is a twin of the Crown Vic, & add the police parts to it. I have an LS-E Grand Marquis with lots of the police handling parts, plus leather, buckets & a floor shift w/console.
Lots of them are auctioned off regularly. You need to understand the term AS IS.
With under $2000 to spend, you won't get much so don't expect much. You could be looking at a worn out piece of junk with 200k miles that might only last you a few months or so.
If you go check a car out before bidding, you will do more than many and thus have an informational advantage.

City and county governments frequently have public surplus sales in which you can often find Crown Vics for sale. They are gradually being replaced by more modern vehicles and are getting harder to find.
Just as long as you don't have red and blue lights or impersonate a officer your good
- Whorling/ Swirling noise coming from 2008 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor I have a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. It is an EX State Trooper Car. When I drive it, the car makes a whorling/swirling kind of noise, it isn't loud like a wheel baring but you sure can notice the sound. Also it seems like when the two front tires fully rotate, they act like they (or one of them) are going into a small hole.
