WHAT YEAR WAS THE FORD FLATHEAD ENGINE DISCONTINUED IN CANADA? - 1
Ford introduced its "flathead" V-8 engine in 1932 and several variations of that engine were used in Ford and Mercury cars and light to mid size trucks up until 1954. In 54-55 the "flathead" was replaced by the "Y block" overhead valve V-8.
Actually I believe the year it was discontinued was 1953 for North America. Jet Doc is right about it but a bit ambiguous on the answer. Unless the Simca version with the was imported (1961). The Simca version was not a true flat head because it used the Ardun OHV valve configuration.
- Why is Donald J Vermin having a Trade War with China and Canada? Shouldn't he enact penalties on the Billionaire owners of Apple, Ford? General Motors, Maytag, Intel, Amazon, and every other Billionaire American who refuses to build in America, buy in America and support American workers with living wages and complete benefits? Just makes sense, doesn't it?
- Why does Mexico have a Ford Ranger with 4 doors and USA and Canada doesn't? Mexico also has a VOLKSWAGEN pick up truck, The Amarok, And they also have the Toyota Hilux which is similar to the Tacoma.
- Who else thinks that the Ford ranger will get discontinued? The models up until 2012 looked great, and they seemed to sell ok. I saw pictures of the newer models, 2012-now, and they look ugly. But the interior looks nice and comfortable. But I don't see hardly anyone driving the newer models. They can't be selling well.
