What's better, Ford or Honda?

People told me ford's (excluding trucks) can be problematic compared to other makes. But I really like Ford, and don't know if this is my sense or heart talking but think Ford is the best of all. Plus, some guy told me Ford parts last long. IS there any truth to this or is this guy playing with my mind?

Don't listen to them, there have been more recalls of Honda vehicles in the last decade than Ford so obviously Honda, while reliable, has some major issues with build quality, if you like Fords then get one, don't let others decides what you do and don't do in life.
From my experience Ford is a great brand, sure they have made some bad car models over the years ( nobody would ever call a ford escort a good car, or say a mustang II was a good sports car ) but if you avoid the bad ones ( i.e those with bad consumer reports scores ) then Ford is a good choice

It really depends on the model. Some Ford models are great, other's are terrible. More often, Honda is a better car, last longer, get's better fuel economy, and will require fewer repairs. But you have to get what you'll love driving.

No doubt, Hondas reliability and quality is legendary. Yet if you really like Ford, go and buy yourself one. Ford actually built enough great cars, so you have lots of options to choose from.

Hi sorry to burst your bubble sunshine but a Tin and board FORD is not a quality made product. It is problematic at best. HONDA on the other hand is a Quality product.
for every year that you have a ford will cost many dollars in sore parts. Compared to a HONDA. So without doubt you have a lot to learn about cars. Made cheap so does not last long.

They are about the same… Honestly.

Each overall make a quality vehicle… With Honda losing quality over the years and Ford gaining massively.

Each has their problems. The EcoBoost engines on the Escapes have a tendency to catch fire. The transmissions on Honda Odysseys and Pilots have been terrible for the last decade. Hondas tend to rust a lot more easily (typical for Japanese cars) while Ford's fit and finish isn't up to Honda standards.

They both still have their pasts… People thinking Hondas are the most reliable after their glory days of the 80s and 90s. And people thinking Fords are junk after the terrible 90s and early 00s.

Also… It's how people treat the cars. Hondas are more likely to be owned by professionals or retirees who don't drive them very much, keep them in a garage, wash them regularly, and perform preventative maintenance… Where Fords can be bought by anyone with a job and a heartbeat… So they will be driven to death on long commutes, parked on the street, not washed, and neglected and abused.

  • Should I learn to drive with a Ford Taurus or Honda Odyssey or it doesn't matter? I've asked this question before, but I made a mistake when it came to the cars. I took 4 hours of driving instruction driving a Ford Taurus, but I was just curious if I should buy more hours or just train with my dad with has a Honda Odyssey. I'm in my 30s, so I'm looking for mature answers. Would it be hard to learn on a larger sized vehicle? I drove it once, and it seemed all right. Any advice is appreciated. TIA
  • 2002 Honda Civic or 2002 Ford Mustang as first car? I'm debating on getting a Civic with nearly 30 mpg or a Mustang with nearly 20 mpg, and I also live in Indiana where we get around a foot of snow every year.
  • Honda Amaze Vs Maruti Swift Dzire Vs Hyundai Xcent Vs Ford Ecosport? I want a Car between the range of Rs 4-6 Lakhs (Sedan or Compact SUV). I selected these three cars but I'm confused between these three which one to buy. Pl. Recommend
  • Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, or Toyota Camry? I'm deciding between the ford fusion, Toyota Camry and Honda accord (all 2014). This might sound lame, but which car is 'cooler.' They're all similar in price and efficient for what I'm looking for. I don't really know much about cars so I'm afraid ill buy a grandma-like car.
