What new car gives you the most bang for your buck?

My husband and I are in the military, and we're retiring very soon. We've been accepted into a PA program that is approximately 1 hour from where we're going to be living.

We currently own several vehicles that we're planning to trade in. The PA program that we will be sending us to various locations for clinical experience. So we need a car that is really good on gas, has a great manufacturers warranty, and is NOT a hybrid. Unfortunately we can't afford a hybrid. We're open to any suggestions, websites or personal opinions.

I would really say the 2014 Ford Fusion, it is a great car, stylish, and starting msrp is only $22,400, so it's quite a deal, and mpg ratings are at 22/34

My daughter bought a Hyundai Accent about five years ago and it had a ten year warranty. She has over fifty thousand miles on it now with no problems. She only paid around nine thousand then with a manual transmission and no radio. I told her to look at new because the cash for clunkers was going on and a used Honda civic with 250,000 miles on it was $5,500. I checked the web site and the new ones get 27 city and 38 highway and MSRP for around 14,500
