What are the fastest cars of today, on the track and on a drag strip?
I'm talking about cars that are sold AS IS, no mods from the buyer. And don't include the godly trio (918, LaFerrari, P1)
On the straights (in my opinion) the Aventador, Nismo GT-R, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Corvette/Viper?
On the track: Porsche 911 Turbo S, Nismo GT-R, Viper ACR, Lexus LFA, Ferrari 458, Pagani Zonda or Huayra, the Lancer Evolution X FQ-440:D
What do you think? I'm a GT-R fan but I want to see your lists. I get annoyed though when Porsche/Chevy/Ford fans go around saying the GT-R can no longer compete with the best. I mean, it was the benchmark of a good handling car, some companies even had to make new versions of their cars to beat the GT-R. And Nissan has only made improvements to the GT-R these past years. Let's go R36!
On both cases it would be a specialty built purpose track car like the Ariel atom 500 which can do 0-60 in 2.3 seconds.
with it's light weight the atom can also handle extremely well.
if you meant a car that you can use every day, look at the Mclaren 650S.
the original mp4-12c can outrun a GT-R in straights as well as on a track thanks to its higher power and lower weight. The 650S brings performance up with modifications to the chassis, suspension and engine. The 12C competed against the 458 Italia (the 12C is faster) and the 650S takes on cars with more power like the Aventador. Being so new, there's performance information still to be released. Looking at how the 12C was rated for a 3.2s 0-60 run and it's been clocked doing it in less than 3.0s, we can expect the 650S to be much faster. The upcoming nismo GT-R is a really big looming threat to supercars though. Nissan has some amazing programming that others still have not been able to match. For comparison, a GT-R can do 0-60 in around 2.7 seconds. The much lighter and powerfull still AWD aventador can do it in 2.9 seconds. If lamborghini had the same software that allows the GT-R to have so much control, the aventador would be nearly unbeatable.

- What car should I start with for drag racing? I'm thinking about starting to drag race with a couple of friends. But at a track! Not on the street with the friends haha. I was wondering what car I should start with? Preferably American made, easy to work on, and hopefully a mopar car? If not ford or chevy will be fine. And also where should I look for one? And should I start from the ground up? Or get a finished one? And if so what parts should I get?
- Older Cars From 1940 Or So Will They Use Today's Gas? This is a Ford Eifel from around 1938 or so and I wondered if today's gas will work or does it have to be doctored in some way like some older cars need higher octane or is that even true? I'm just curious so don't waste time bustin' my chops over it. Thanks and thumbs up to all who answer… Just give me time to get back and read the answers.
- Which one of these cars will win in a drag race? 2015 dodge challenger hellcat, 2015 ford mustang gt350, or 2015 z06 corvette? Also, which of these three do you prefer driving?
- What Ford mustang from the 90s - 2005 is the fastest and cheap to buy? I'm just checking prices to fix a 67 mustang but I need to sit a different engine but I want to buy a fast cheap mustang to take it apart and put the engine and transmission on my 67 mustang. Now I'm not really good at cars and don't know much of Ford cars, I'm more a Chevy person like I know little bit of Chevy engines.
