What are the differences between Chevy V8 and ford v8? - 1
Added (1). An a non-expert, I just want insight. What are the difference in terms of technology they use, materials, is one better at a high rpm then the other, is one a flatter performance profile than the other, does one have a shorter stroke-to-rod length ratio and will that give higher rpm etc…

WHAT COMPANY MADE THEM… ROD TO PISTON RATIO… BEARING SIZE… LOTS MOR ANSWERS LIKE THESE TWO… WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU ASKING? WHICH IS BETTER? THAT'S PERSONAL OPINION! THE ENGINE DOESN'T KNOW WHO MADE IT! IT ALSO DOESN'T CARE!
The Chevy gets "Recalled" MORE Often.
Chevy engines are a more powerful and more efficient.
Chevy has a significant amount of V's giving it more torque. While Ford V8's have more 8 giving it better fuel economy and horsepower.
One is made by GM, the other by Ford
You'll have to be more specific. If you are talking piece parts, there's probably not one major piece of a Ford engine that will fit in a Chevy engine. But if you are talking engineering & technology, the two are almost exactly the same.
One is made by GMC and one is made by Ford. They both operate exactly the same.
I have heard that the new ford v8s are better than the chevys v8s.
Chevy cylinders are numbered 1 through 8 from very front cyl to rear one(the correct way). While ford numbers them front to rear, one bank at a time.
One is a Chevy & the other is a Ford. More of a choice or preference.
- What is the difference between a Chevy and a Ford? And where can I get a book on how to know all about vehicles? Pretty much a "for dummies" book on vehicles lol.
- My truck shakes up and down near the steering wheel when I ride between 40mph and 45mph. Why? For the past couple years, my truck has been shaking when I drive between 40 and 45mph. It doesn't happen as much when I accelerate past that, but when I maintain in a 40 mph zone or slowly accelerate from that speed it's a little bit annoying. My truck is a Ford F-150 V8 Automatic 1999 and has 230k miles. I've been in a tiny wreck once with it, but I'm sure it was going on before that.
- Ford Triton 4.6/5.4 2v v8 differences? So I was wondering if there are any differences other than size and power between the Triton 4.6 2v and 5.4 2v I'm thinking about swapping a 5.4 in my f150 its a remanufactured 5.4 long block and I'm wondering if I can transfer any of my stuff off my 4.6 to the 5.4 such as exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds, valve covers, pulleys, water/oil pumps, fuel rails, other stuff? Doing as much research as possible.
