Why did my car AUX, steering wheel buttons and radio lights stop working?
My car battery was starting to die so I called AAA to have them come and replace it. So they send out a guy, he replaces the batter and the car turns on now. Cool but now the buttons on my steering wheel that control volume and radio station doesn't work. I tryed to plug in to the aux and it says something like aux not available and the lights on my radio also don't work. This guy fixed one problem but created 3 more… How to I get the buttons on the steering wheel to work, aux to work and lights on the radio to work again?
Its a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL
You have to take it to the dealer and get it re-programmed.
When a battery is removed you have to re-progam the radio. Usually it's just a matter of turning it on with the control knob. The AUX may be on the same circuit.
Likely the anti-theft system is activated and you need to reset the stereo. Look in your owner's manual to see how to do that.
- Why are my blink lights / brake lights working? I have a 72 Ford f100 and the rear left turn signal, brake ligh, hazard light isn't working. The light workings for "running lights " but does not blink or light up when I press the brake. I replaced the bulb. I don't know where to start
- My radio won't stop scanning, doesn't stop on any station, why? It's a stock 93 Ford Taurus radio, only am fm and cassette, cassettes work but I don't want to use. How can I get my radio to work again? My antennae was loose but I tightened it but it still won't work!
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
