I have a 2001 Ford Taurus Lx, it sputters and hesitates during acceleration?
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus Lx, it sputters and hesitates during acceleration! It doesn't go pass 25 mph but will reach 5 rpms! Changed spark plugs and wires! Also changed coil pack! Both converters are working properly! Check engine light is not on! Doesn't run hot! Tire pressure indicator comes on though! Not sure what my next step is! I need help!
See a mechanic with a scan tool. The car might be stuck in limp mode. You can try replacing any fuses and relays that concern the transmission. The cat converter might be clogged too.
- What car is cheap and can be modified to be really fast in speed and acceleration? I have a Ford Taurus and I feel like as if it lacks speed and acceleration. Also which modifications can increase the speed of the car and acceleration of it without removing any weight?
- This is a good one. I have a 2001 Ford Taurus Lx 3.0. I had a loose terminal so fixed that the negative side, ok and then? Found the wire was also loose where the wire nit screws down on altanator. The stand off broke off even. How do you fix that easy out?

- Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
