How to replace the side view mirror on a 1999 Ford Taurus?

Something hit my passenger side mirror as I drove down the highway. The glass came off completely, which was easy to replace, but you can no longer adjust it because it doesn't respond to the power controls. I'm not sure how to get inside to see what's loose or broken. Any suggestions?

It should have two or three regular Phillips screws on the interior door panel. After you remove them, you lift the interior door panel up and over the lock nob on top by the window and pull it back towards you. Reach on the back and unclip the electrical for power windows and locks if your car has them. When the panel is off there should be some mat thing stuck to the metal. Peel it back by the mirror and there should be a space where you will see the power clip. Unplug it and plug it back in. If the power doesn't work, then the mirror probably broke internally on the engine and you need a replacement. Go eBay or aftermarket but oem will be expensive. It's easy to install from where you're already at. It's like two bolts holding on the actual mirror. Hope that helps.
