How to bypass the antitheft on 2004 ford Taurus?

Bought a car for a demo off a guy who did not have keys for it. It came from an impound towing place so they gave us only the title and my boyfriend ripped out the ignition and it won't start now by hot wiring it because the anti theft won't let it fire. Anything we can do? Getting a key is not an option because he pulled it all out.

Probably has PATS. The fuel pump won't activate unless the transponder receiver (that was in the ignition) gets a signal from a properly programed key. Both are required for the car to start and run. Your boyfriend should've done his homework. If the ignition is still intact you can reinstall it and then take the title to a Ford dealership and get a key made. If the ignition is trashed, then you're boned an this is going to get expensive. Think of it as a stupidity tax.

Next to impossible to get around it without causing major damage, as the PATS module sits right next to the main computer. Suggest you have it towed to a Ford garage & let them fix it & make a new set of keys for it.
