Cyclinder 6 Misfire - After coolant line bursted?
My 2006 ford Taurus had one of the coolant lines bust, which i have since replaced. When the coolant line busted, the car did not overheat, but began misfiring. Cylinder 1,2,3 were misfiring at random intervals, so I replaced the coil pack. Those cylinders are now not misfiring, however, cylinder 6 is. I have replaced all the spark plugs, and still this one cylinder is misfiring. What else could it be? What is the worst case scenereo?
Cylinders 2 and 5 have the greatest risk of head gasket problems from the coolant loss itself, so I'm pretty sure the problem is still in the ignition. The spark plug leads are certainly a concern and if they are original this is a good time to replace the set - 12 years is a mighty good run for spark plug leads. If for some reason that doesn't do the trick it is time to look at the low voltage connector and wiring for obvious signs of being wet.
Are the coil packs interchangable? If so can you swap them and see if the problem follows the coil?
- What causes problems starting a car and the engine to misfire going over 60 mph? This problem started about two months ago. I have a 2006 Ford Taurus. So far no mechanic can figure out the problem. They have replaced all of the spark plugs (numerous times because they keep going bad), an engine coil, the crankshaft position sensor, the battery, did a tune-up, ran a $100 diagnostic test and still the problem occurs. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I forgot that they also did a coolant flush.

- 2002 ford taurus coolant bubbling out of coolant tank cap? Coolant is bubbling out of the tank cap on my taurus. The coolant is a bit over the fill to line. The coolant is the normal green color. I don't think it having a bit of extra coolant in the tank is doing this. The cap itself maybe? I just bought this car and it didn't do this until today.
- I guess #4 cyclinder misfiring? For check i removed all plug wires one by one. When it came to no.4 idle didn't change. After this, i replaced rotor arm, plugs, wires, cap but still does same thing. i can see spark from cable to cap but with no idle changes @4 what can be the problem? 2.0 Ford pinto engine with weber 32/36
