Can i have 1 different sized wheel on my car?
I recently bought a 200 Ford Taurus, not from a dealer, and it was missing one wheel. It has the spare on for now, but I'm not wanting to spend a lot to replace the wheel, but I can't find an exact match for cheap.
My tires are 215/60R16 and rims are 7Jx16ET42. I found someone who has some old Taurus rims but they are 16" x 8" and I do not know the offset. From what I've read, my size tires will only fit on 6-7.5" rims. Assuming that the offset is an acceptable one, could I put a tire that fits 8" wide rim on that one?
Not if your wish to maintain proper handling, control and stability for your Ford.
- Why do fords small sized engines make more power than chevy s? I have a 67 impala with a 283. And I was looking at a spec sheet for different motors from ford of that same year and saw that fords 289 makes 271 horsepower while my 283 only makes 190 where this extra power coming from?
- Why do car companies sell in different countries under different names? Why are companies like Chevrolet selling their cars under names like Holden in Australia? I'm not sure if Chevrolet sells in Australia but I do think they do. If they already sell in Australia, what's the point of selling the same thing under Holden? Another example is some Ford cars are sold under Lincoln, and Chevrolet sells the same thing under GMC. Buick and Opel? What's with this?
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
