Can I mix two different brands of car oil?

I have a 2012 Ford Fiesta, and used GTX Ultraclean 10W-40, however I couldn't find this one again so I might Mobil 10W-40. Is it okay to mix the two brands? Can I mix two different brands of car oil

No you can't.

Yes, as long as it's the same viscosity (10W-40), then it's fine.

Yes, all motor oils are blends oil multiple base types, and can be mixed.

But why are you using 10w-40 in a 2012 Ford? The owners manual specifies 0w-20.

No problem, I do it all the time…

Yes you can mix different brands. What you should not mix is real petrol oil and synthetic oil.

Yes

That's fine.

Yes. Your engine won't know the difference, or care.

Youa re usingthe WRONG viscosity for that engien! I would getPENNZOIL PLATINUM or PENNZOIL EURO l That MEETS the needs of your particular engine! Yoru engien is EUROPEAN< so you need FULLY EUROPEAN FULL SYNTHETIC OIL! Use LIQUI MOLY if you can find it! CASTROL is NOT my favorite! Int eSting it is NOT as good as say TOTAL ENERGY OIL from FRANCE! ANd VALVOLINE is a "NO GO" formt he beginning!

Absolutely, IF you're using the correct engine oil viscosity which is 5W-20.

  • Why do car companies sell in different countries under different names? Why are companies like Chevrolet selling their cars under names like Holden in Australia? I'm not sure if Chevrolet sells in Australia but I do think they do. If they already sell in Australia, what's the point of selling the same thing under Holden? Another example is some Ford cars are sold under Lincoln, and Chevrolet sells the same thing under GMC. Buick and Opel? What's with this?
  • What are the most reliable car brands and which ones should I avoid? I'm looking to get a used car. I have even heard about two lesser known Japanese brands, Subaru and Suzuki, but I'm a bit skeptical of Suzuki in particular. I'm honestly not a supporter of Mitsubishi and Mazda. I would not say having AWD/4WD is necessary for me. It is not very snowy where I live. The reason I said that I do not like Mazda was because it used to be partnered with Ford and I do not like American car companies. I'm not so keen on German cars.

  • Can you mix different colours of anti freeze? Hi. My ford fiesta currently has pink anti freeze (engine coolant) in it. However it needs topped up. I have bought some anti freeze but it's pink/orange colour. It meets the same specification though. Is it okay if i use this stuff?
