02 Ford taurus keeps stalling?
I have a 02 Ford Taurus. I was driving on the express way for about 10 minutes and the car began acting like it was going to stall. I took the off ramp and it stalled out. When I tried to restart it, it would barely idle and die when I tried to put it in gear. Let it sit for about an hour and it restarted fine. Continued on my way home for about 15 minutes and it began making a ticking or chattering noise and stalled at a red light. Was able to get it off the road by punching the gas. Left it overnight. Started right up the next day and drove it home. I haven't driven it since. My brother in law said check the gas cap to see a vacuum was created. Checked and woosh of air. He also said check to see if the catalytic converter gets beat red when hot and it doesn't. Just noticed oil leaking slightly and burning oil smell when left running in the driveway. I've been looking online and don't know which direction to look. Some people say oil pump, transmission, fuel filter clogged, fuel pump? Any ideas?
Its sounds like a bad alternator. The car must be running off the battery and dying. **Most likely
Or it could be bad ground. ** less likely

Ok so lately my cars been stalling randomly, all I do when it stalls is hop out, pop my hood open, hop back in the car and start it back up and it turns over just fine, I kid you not all I do is pop the hood and it starts up just fine, I don't touch anything under the hood or mess with anything, literally just pop the hood and it starts back up, any answers as to what's going on with my car?

I have a quick question, last night I ran over a deer, the truck started stalling and would not pick up speed and accelerate Like it suppose to. The muffler was hanging and the oxygen sensor cable came unplugged, could that be the issue? Or any other ideas? The bottom looks solid nothing is damaged or bent, I did plug the oxygen sensor back, but no luck
- My car keeps struggling and misfiring after water keeps leaking into spark plugs? I have a ford focus 06 ghia and recently we took to a garage as was really sluggish and found we had water in spark plug casing. We have been told his is a common problem with this model! It kept stalling and buckling after a complete stop, but runs just fine after getting up to speed. About a week or so after that started, the "check engine" light came on. I'm taking it to the shop soon I was just hoping someone would maybe tell me what's going on with my car please?
