My car keeps struggling and misfiring after water keeps leaking into spark plugs?

I have a ford focus 06 ghia and recently we took to a garage as was really sluggish and found we had water in spark plug casing. We have been told his is a common problem with this model! (wish I had been told about this before I had purchased the car) Has anybody had this problem and how was it rectified? Cheapest option:-( one poorly car at the moment

Common problem on this car, the window washer jets drip water into the channel and runs into the spark plug tubes, rusting in the spark plugs and can cause missfire etc, and seized in spark plugs that snap off when you try to remove them, this is generally a good engine with no major mechanical issues or head gasket problems if you keep it well serviced, but iv'e seen loads with spark plug problems caused by water damage.

The water is doubtfully Coolant as the common problem with the Focus is any water gathers in the spark plug wells and should evaporate away unless you are doing short journeys. Then it stays there and the spark plugs and/or the HT leads break down causing a missfire. New plugs and HT leads should fix it once you have drained the water from the rocker cover well. Don't bother with iridium like "Mr CAPS lock ON randomly" says as they are a waste of money and he is comparing the EU model with the US model and ours is vastly superior build quality than theirs.

Possibly a cracked head.

Can I have more info on this?

What a rant! Anyhow, water (coolant?) in spark plug WELL? That's the small indentation in engine block that the plug sticks out of- Find and repair leak. Water in cylinder itself? That's the hole below where plug screws in- Bad juju, cylinder head gasket, cracked cylinder head, or crack/porosity in cylinder wall to water jacket.

Hi There's no cheap option this could be a cracked head. Either way the head needs to come off. So a new head gaskets could be fitted. That is when the result of what is causing this could be found.

B.S. POWER WASH engine. Use MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil an install a set of BOSCH or DENSO iridium plugs AFTER you remove and clean the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE and THROTTLE BODY to showroom clean! That engine is a PORSCHE made for ford if it is the 2.0 liter! FORD has no gasketing issues like GM does for decades and decades! NO VALVOLINE EVER and no PRESTONE either! Use genuine FORD COOLANT! Expect 300k miles if you do so! KEEP ENGINE CLEAN! There's no such thing as a SPARK PLUG CASING! Go to ANY OIL CHANGE PLACE and get another opinion! WHICH ENGINE DO YOU HAVE HERE? BAD OIL will shrink gaskets and VALVOLINE is not used by any factory on this planet! BYE NOW! Do you mean COOLANT LEAKS! I can't even get a picture in my head over this thing! OPEN HOOD AND LOOK! Watch for leaks (?) use only factory coolant in it!
