Why is my 95 ford ranger not starting?
I just bought the truck its been siting for about a year I just about it and drove it one day and shut it off and it hassnt started it acts like it wants to but it doesn't and it smells like gas a lil its a manual 4 cyl 2.31 I evan tried putting more gas in it and it didn't want to take it all at once I had to feed it little by little… Don't kno wat it can b
If its been sitting for about a year and you smell gas while trying to start it you might want to look for a fuel leak. When you first turn the key to the run position, not the start position, you should hear the fuel pump purr. If so, you know its okay, but it has to pump the fuel to the engine and the route it takes includes steel as well as rubber fuel lines. Those flex lines have a tendency to deteriorate over time (19 yrs.) and can also be damaged by mice.
An engine needs spark, fuel, and air. If you are smelling fuel more than likely its spark. Nothing igniting the fuel.
- Ford Taurus not starting? I have a 2003 ford Taurus, Thursday I drove to school then home no problem but when I went to pick up my son my car wouldn't start. I had power for the radio and a/c so I don't think it could be the battery. It just won't turn on for the pSt few days. Anyone know what could be wrong?
- Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI not starting? The fuel pump has been changed. It's been timed back up. Checked injectors for blockage but they're clean. Car still fails to kick in on start. Tried some easy start in it but car stops as soon as it burns off… Any ideas? It's driving us crazy.
- 2012 ford focus not starting? I just got a 2012 ford focus just a few weeks ago and I love it! 60K miles on it runs fine everything! Well tonight I go start it and it will not start over. Dash board lights flicker, tail lights head lights flicker even when the key is In the ignition (not starting it). I pop open the hood and fuze location r12 (power relay: cooling fan) thumps i don't know if that's the problem. But as of now the car is completely dead now.
- 2002 Ford Focus not starting. Antitheft light blinking? Accident left my key in last night and it won't start. Anti-theft light is blinking. Checked all fuses and relay and there good. It was working fine before.
