Where do you jack up a Ford ranger for a rear tire change with a 2.5 ton floor jack?
Where do you jack up a Ford ranger for a rear tire change with a 2.5 ton floor jack? - 1
On the jacking points. Your handbook will show you exactly where they are located.
READ the owner's manual that came with the truck. It will tell you how to SAFELY lift the rear end of the truck to change a flat tire.
No owner's manual? BUY ONE and THEN read it.
I block the front wheels and raise it at the middle axle/diff.
The differential works.
Under the rear shocks works.
Under the pinch weld of the body works but you may need a 4x4 to get the extra lift needed.
There are published jacking points for your vehicle ( normally found in wonders manual) these can often be found with an online search.
essentially we need strong area where the pressure of jack won't cause damage or slip! Not all cars can be lifted on diff! Check where dampers fix too. Often there will be an area there or nearby that has sufficient strength yo take jack. We may. Also be able to spread load but unless we aware of ares to avoid? This sort of activity is best left to experts.
one would have thought end of axle casing may afford sufficient to use but her agin DO check with manual first. As damage can be expensive to correct.
- Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
- Does the oil pan have to be removed to change the rear main seal on a ford 3.0L V6 in a 2000 ford ranger? I have the engine removed from the truck and was swaping in a salvaged engine that all checks out good except for a slight leaking rear main seal. So, after inspecting the rear main seal, it appears as though a could just slide it out and a new one in. Does the oil pan need to be removed? Or can I just carefully remove the old seal and clean the surfaces good and install a new one?
- After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
- Ram, Chevy, Ford or Toyota 1/2 ton? I'm looking to get a 1/2 ton truck. I like all the trucks which makes it hard to pick. Right now I have the Ram on top of my list. I would haul and go off road with. Also would use it as a family truck. I'm just looking for the truck that is best overall with power, durability, comfort and convenience. Your input is very appreciated.
