What's a good starter vehicle?
I'm planning on buying a ford ranger and fix it up to be like new. Is there a better choice in brand or vehicle?
That was my son's first ride. He was 17
Its not usually worth fixing up old pickups. It won't increase the value by even half what you spend. And some stuff actually decreases the value. Like headers.
If you specifically want a small pick-up, the nice thing about the Ranger is that's been around for a long time and parts are readily available.
- What is a good and reliable 4x4 vehicle that i would be able to get for around 3 to 3500 dollars? Something preferably kind of well knwon, like how ford had the 4.9 i6, the 7.3 diesel, the i4 they put in rangers for example I'm selling my two vehicles i have and want to put money in the bank and buy one cheap vehicle because i'm moving, where i will be living will be cold so fuel injected gasoline will be a must
- Is a face lift for a vehicle a new generation for a vehicle? I heard that in 1989 Ford Ranger received a facelift but was a new generation or just a minor update that did not change the complete model of the vehicle?
- Do you think a Ford Ranger would be good for me? (first vehicle)? I'm 17 and have 3000 saved up to buy a vehicle. I was looking at a 4.0L V6 Ford Ranger. Do you think that engine can support a dirt bike or a quad (not at the same time) in the bed or is that pushing it. Should I go with a F-150? I only want a truck so I can put my dirt bike/quad in the back and got o my friends house and ride.
- What is a good American vehicle to make fast/build? Looking around for a new car that would make a decent daily driver while still being a good mod platform for speed/acceleration. Budget is $20k-$25k. I'm looking at a few Ford 6.4 Powerstrokes, Ford Mustang GT 4.6/5.0, Camaro SS 6.2, Silverado 6.6 duramax. Any other suggestions? I'm not looking to do full on engine builds, just bolt-on mods(preferably kits).
