What can cause a battery gauage to flicker when idling on a 1990 ford ranger?
Added (1). the gauge flickers when i come to a stop at a light or stop sign.it doesn't do it when i put in park
Loose serpentine belt, poorly functioning alternator, loose wire on the gauge.
It sounds like it may be an failing alternator or an idle speed that's too low.
Bad alternator.
- I just bought a 1990 Ford Ranger and it is doing something weird? As stated in the title I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger today and it had recently gotten some parts replaced including: Fly Wheel, Starter, tires and some others. But the problem is, when I'm stop and accelerate the whole truck shakes and jiggles and I'm not exactly sure what it is? Any comments help. It's a Ford Ranger 1990 Automatic 4wd. Also, I'm not sure if this is normal on these old of cars but when on the freeway going about 65 that's red lining it.
- Can I save money by adding hho to my 1990 ford ranger? I always see these water generators online that claim if you add this to your already fuel burning vehicle it would make it more efficient. I love my little ranger but gas is so expensive and I drive long distances. It just doesn't seem like it could actually work or more people would be doing it right? Are the kits hard to put in? Is it worth my time/money? Will I actually save or is this just what they are claiming?
- Can a low oil light cause my 1990 ford ranger to not turn over? I started my truck a few days ago and it ran descent considering i need new plugs and wires, when i tilted it over on its side (only about six inches on the driver side), it had a small oil drip, when i tried to start it today it wouldnt turn over and whenever i turned the key, the check oil light came on, will it start if i add some oil to it?
- Can a 3 prong 1990 Ford A4ld transmission harness for the ranger 2.9l connect to a 89 a 2 prong shift solinoid on an 89 stang a4ld? Working on taking a dead a4ld out my 1990 ford ranger 2.9l The harness is my only concern to the shift solinoid… It has 3 prong harness but my tranny that will be swapped in is a 89 2.3l ford mustang transmission.
