Can a 3 prong 1990 Ford A4ld transmission harness for the ranger 2.9l connect to a 89 a 2 prong shift solinoid on an 89 stang a4ld?
Working on taking a dead a4ld out my 1990 ford ranger 2.9l
The harness is my only concern to the shift solinoid…
It has 3 prong harness but my tranny that will be swapped in is a 89 2.3l ford mustang transmission.
Everything else swaps over but need this info.
You have more to be concerned about then just the difference in the connector! The PCM will be wrong too! You can't just think swapping transmissions or motors will work just because they bolt up.
First of all make sure you are looking at the shift solenoid! My books suggest that the solenoid should be the same.
Secondly- if you are right, just change out the solenoid.
- Would a transmission from a 1993-94 ford ranger lariet be compatible with a 1990 model? Can they be interchanged? Or looking for used/rebuilt transmission for 1990 model… Automatic with 2.9 liter,6 cyclinder
- How to put the wiring harness back on a 93 ford ranger for the tail lights after I put the bed back on? How do I put the wiring harness back on a 93 ford ranger for the tail lights after I put the bed back on?
- Gears in my manual transmission Ford Ranger are difficult to shift when the engine is running. Why is this? This usually happens in the morning or if I have not driven in a while usually when its cold out. Once the car gets warmed it gets easier.
- Can I save money by adding hho to my 1990 ford ranger? I always see these water generators online that claim if you add this to your already fuel burning vehicle it would make it more efficient. I love my little ranger but gas is so expensive and I drive long distances. It just doesn't seem like it could actually work or more people would be doing it right? Are the kits hard to put in? Is it worth my time/money? Will I actually save or is this just what they are claiming?
