Is a 4x4 truck more fun than a two wheel drive truck?
Always love to go off road and I love to go mud bug to thing is my Ford Ranger that was totaled the other day can't go through mud because the two wheel drive. Is four wheel drive more reliable and easier to go off road and is 4x4 more fun than two wheel drive?
Only if you are using it off road or in bad conditions.
Otherwise the simpler and lighter 2WD version will perform and handle better, get better economy, and cost less to buy.
Buy a 4WD if you NEED the off road capability, otherwise you are hauling around a heavy and expensive dif and transfer case for no good reason.
- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
- I'm 6'8 while being more leggy than torso, could I drive a 3 door ford focus? How far can the seat go back and is there even much legroom for the driver? Can the steering wheel be adjusted? Thank you. (Note: I never drove a car, so I'm looking for one to buy, I'm also set on getting a focus.
- Is my truck 4-Wheel Drive and if so how do I turn it on? This may sound like a dumb question but I just recently got a 1995 Ford F-150 xl and it never crossed my mind that it would be four wheel drive. Howver today when I was driving it i noticed that a little to the right of the spedometer there was a spot that said 4x4 but it wasn't glowing. I looked all over the place for a spot where the switch or lever might be but found nothing. Any help would be greattly appreciated. Specs: 1995 Ford F-150 xl 6 Cylinder
