I just got my 1997 Ford Ranger a tune up & vacuum leaks & some sensors done & it still drinks gas?

Must be the V6. That is one of the thirstiest engines. There's nothing for it.

My Ranger with the 3.0 liter runs great but it sucks gas in heavy traffic. It does OK on the freeway. The V-6 4.0 liter engine is much worse. I had to fix a lot of issues with my truck including replacing the timing cover gasket, oxygen sensors, a leaking intake snorkel, vacuum leaks in the purge valve system, and a cracked fuel filler neck hose.
