Ok I just got my car in January. Two weeks ago it ran hot. It Ford Focus 2014 . For my understanding I got extended warranty my radiator completely went which blew my head gasket. The mechanic want me to lie And make insurance claim. Which doesn't seem right to me?

If it is your understanding, you should check your warranty and see if that kind of repair will be covered by it.

It doesn't seem right because it isn't right. I smell a rat here. Maybe the warranty was not implemented by the garage/shop to save money? Who knows? But the last thing you should do is lie to an insurer as that is straightforward fraud. Stick to the warranty claim. If the mechanic threatens you in anyway tell him you will speak to your lawyer. Then do so if necessary.

Insurance doesn't cover mechanical break-downs, only collisions. That's what the warranty was for.

Well if ford not willing to pay and you don't want to lie (I wouldn't) then your stuck paying for it. Most warranties are not worth the paper its written on

To unravel this rather rambling question, I'm guessing that you didn't top up your radiator which has caused overheating and then the damage to your head gasket. Your extended warranty will be invalid if you did cause this by neglect and continued to drive whilst the car was overheating. The car will most likely be checked by a third party from your warranty provider to see how this happened. I'm guessing that the mechanic has suggested it's your only chance of getting the car repaired without cost to yourself, but it would be fraud, easily detectable, if you do this.

The head gasket leaked compression into the cooling system and ruined the radiator. The head gasket should be covered and with any luck they pay for the new radiator too.

Before checking your warranty you should have checked your coolant level occasionally. Also stopped when it ran hot.

Your mechanic is a professional that you have paid to make a diagnosis say what the mechanic tells you to say you paid him. Unless your mechanic or have hired another mechanic how can you possibly overrule his diagnosis that you paid for! That's like going to a lawyer and then refusing to do what the lawyer tells you to do and say in court. If you don't want your car fixed do what your way I'm sure you'll enjoy walking.

Don't lie.

An extended warranty is the insurance plan, but it may not cover your situation exactly, so he is asking you to lie so your insurance pays for it and it does not fall back onto Ford.
