I have a Ford Ranger 4.0 and the AC doesn't blow very cool air. I want to add refrigerant for very 1st time, never have added to any vehicle?

I'm using a gauge to test the pressure. With AC on max the needle moves between 25 and 45, the blue normal range. The compressor cuts on at 45 and off at 25. This happens continuously. The outside temp is 80 degrees.

Not exactly understanding what I was doing, I added a little refrigerant and now the needle goes to 47 in the yellow range. Will this do any harm? Can I remove the excess refrigerant? If so, how?

Is the system fully charged? If so, why isn't the air cooler?

I can evacuate and recharge an A/C system but I don't know how to use those stupid A/C Pro things. I always end up making it worse.

I'd look for a you tube on that.
