How many miles will my truck last me?
1998 Ford ranger xlt 3.0 v6 she's running strong flushed radiator but when it's in park sometimes it shakes. Could that be a muffler? Not really an issue. Just wondering how many miles I can get out of her before I need to start worrying. It's at 159k.
Who knows, skippy, no one has a crystal ball to check. Your Ranger could last another decade or die tomorrow, no one knows. But if you fully and properly service and maintain the Ford it has the potential to last many years to come.

There's a guy in upstate New York that has a 1966 Volvo coupe that he bought brand new in 1966. He has carefully recorded all the service and maintenance on his car since new, and he can PROVE that the car has over THREE MILLION miles on it.
There's no real reason why YOUR car can't last for just as many miles as long as you are willing to maintain it and repair any parts that wear out or fail as needed. The reason that MOST old cars end up in junk yards is that the owner gets tired of maintaining the car and lets it fail.

- How many miles a 3.0 engine in a '95 Ford Taurus should last? I've got nearly 193,000 on it now. Have been good about oil changes and most mechanical work although a few years ago I drove it for several weeks with a broken catalytic converter.

- How many miles a 2003 Ford Focus should last? I just hit 100,000 miles on my 2003 Ford Focus. I'd like to get a new car, but this vehicle is still running very well. I haven't had any major repairs with it either, mostly just maintenance. Does anyone know about how many miles a vehicle like this should last for?
- How many miles does a 2000 Ford Explorer last? It has 195k miles total with 130k on the motor and transmission. The engine sounds beautiful. You wouldn't have any idea that it has that many miles on it. And, 4 years or roughly 50k of miles are highway miles as I had an hour commute to college.
