Ford ranger rear differential leak?
I've noticed a couple weeks ago my differential is leaking on side closest to bumper. Not much. Stuck to the differential. Is there an additive I can use to stop the leak? Thank you in advance
No. You need to remove the rear cover, clean the inside, seal the cover back on, and put in new oil. Ask a lube place how much to change the rear diff oil, that is what the job is.
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
- Cost for a rear differential gear swap? Very simply I have a 2012 Ford Mustang V6 with the stock 2.73 gears and I ordered 3.73 gears and I wish to have them installed. My local auto body shop is asking $1000 for the installation + gear oil + engine retune (apparently that s needed when you jump gears like that). Is that a fair price or should I look elsewhere?

- Rear differential leaking, but not from seal on 2003 ford f150 aluminum driveshaft? I noticed this yesterday, it's barely leaking, however, it's not leaking from the bottom of the seal, it is leaking from where the back face of the u joint(the face that faces the rear diff) and the pinion and it looks like it's coming from a small hole, I don't know why it is leaking fluid, if anyone has any information, that would be nice, thanks
