96 ford ranger starting problem?
I have a 96 Ford Ranger 4.0L 6cyl. Manual. It just started having this problem. It starts up good and runs good. After driving awhile and i go into a store and come back out to start it… It starts up then acts like it wants to die, i press the gass and put it into gear and drive, after that its good until i stop it again. Any ideas?
Likely a fuel pump with a bad check valve or a weak fuel pump. Have the fuel pump checked with a fuel pressure tester. Fuel pressure must be checked with the engine running and immediately after shutdown.
Bad air idle speed motor its a silver round thing about the size of a pillbottle located on the side of the intake manifold

- Issues with 1998 ford ranger starting? MY car will randomly not start, i pop the hood and jiggle the negative wire and it will start to work. The cable is attaced tightly to the terminal, it's the wiring leading away from the terminal I have to jiggle. I was wondering if anyone could help me with identify the problem. - Ford Ranger 4.0, 172,000 miles rough idle when starting after sitting overnight or after 2-3 hours. Starts 1st crank, idles rough 1 minute? Or so and then smooths out and runs fine. New heads and gaskets. Cleaned MAF sensor, throttle body and air intake sensor, new IAC valve, new air and fuel filters, new PCV valve. No smoke coming from exhaust and No check engine light. Any ideas what's causing this rough idle?
- 1994 ford ranger 2.3. 5 speed manual. No fuel to engine when starting? - 1 Manually jumped fuel pump from battery, gives 40 psi at the fuel rail. Injectors arnt fireing, even with the fuel pump manually running. Inertia switch is good.
