2002 Ford Ranger 2x4 into 4x4?

I'm looking to buy a 2002 Ford Ranger because it is cheap but it is a 2x4 and I would much rather have a 4x4.
I was just wondering how much it would cost me to convert it and how much time it would take, since I'm not looking to keep the truck forever. Just until I can afford the exact Toyota Tacoma I want (which will take me a bit to get). So should I take the time and effort to convert it or should I just leave it since my Toyota Tacoma will be a 4x4. I just need a truck for the time being.

Thank you! Will cost much more than a used Tacoma.

Will have to buy a 4x4 ranger (not likely to just find a 4x4 frame, axles, transfer case, transmission, and interior components) as well and transfer your body over.

Several thousand dollars labor and several thousand dollars more in parts for a vehicle worth a thousand bucks in the end. It would cost more than the truck is worth. If you want a 4x4, then buy a 4x4. Hat's sort of like taking how much i will cost to build a house because you found a doorknob. If you want FWD, buy a FWD. If you can't afford a 4x4 Tacoma right now then you darn sure can't afford to convert that Ranger. It would cost you more than the Tacoma would. Find the 4x4. Trying to change over a 2x4 into a 4x4 is not feasible
